About The Desk

The buyer's side of the table, since 1987.

Fiduciary Underwriting Desk exists for one reason. The life insurance transaction is structurally imbalanced. The agent represents the carrier. The buyer has no one at the table negotiating for them. We fix that.

Why this desk exists

Most life insurance agents represent the carrier. That is not a criticism. It is the structure of the industry. But it means that when a high-net-worth individual sits down to secure coverage, no one at that table is exclusively focused on their interests.

Dave Chaney has been on the buyer's side of that table since 1987. He does not represent carriers. He does not push products. He represents the buyer to the marketplace, controls the medical records, shops the full field of carriers, and negotiates the strongest available terms before a formal application is ever signed.

The Desk works alongside RIAs, CPAs, and family offices. Not instead of them. Your client keeps their team. The team gains someone whose only job is the insurance transaction itself.

How the process works

01

Review the records first

We gather and hold the medical records before any carrier sees them. Inaccurate physician notes get caught early. Issues get resolved before they cost the buyer money.

02

Shop the full market

Carriers assess the same risk differently. We present the case to 30+ carriers and make them compete on price and terms. This happens before a formal application locks the buyer into one carrier's view.

03

Negotiate the terms

With competing offers in hand, we negotiate the strongest classification, the best cash value accumulation, and the most favorable policy structure for the buyer's actual need.

04

Place and monitor

The policy is placed with the right carrier. Then we monitor it. In-force policy reviews catch drift before it becomes a lapse. That protects the estate plan and the AUM conversation.
